liviapenn and, well, everyone, have been talking about story summaries, so I decided to hop on the bandwagon.
First story archived: And the Sailor, Home from the Sea
Summary: For Livia's Bradbury titles challenge. "Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning; red sky at night, sailors' delight."
Okay, the challenge notation was mostly for Livia's ease in gathering the challenge stories while it was running. Quoting the adage tells very little of what the story's about... on the other hand, I suspect it's dandy for recognising or finding the story again if you've read it before.
Second story archived: The Utterly Perfect Murder
Summary: Another entry for Livia's Bradbury titles challenge.
Lex has learned his lessons well.
Challenge notation as with "Sailor" above. The summary itself sucks hiney; my only defence is that in this case the title gives enough information that a summary is almost extraneous.
Third story archived: Seven Veils
Summary: Clark's been thinking.
Fucked-up blowjob fic.
Aagh. Of course I post this, and within hours everyone is talking about what a sucky summary "character X thinks about Y" is. Butt look! It's not that Clark's thinking, it's that he's been thinking!
Y'all aren't buying that, are you? Well, neither am I. The second line of the summary is apt and descriptive, though, and I really wouldn't want to give too much away on this one.
I've been saying I'll polish up and archive Meta Physical Humour if enough people nag me to. It now occurs to me that I haven't the first inspiration for a non-sucking summary of it, so I'll amend that to, if someone comes up with a summary for me.
Now I'm off to pester Jenn about a story that's easy as pie to summarise: "That missing shower scene from Three Impossible Things."
