I already posted a bunch of links to other gay superhero pictures over on jl_fic; these are (most of) the ones that aren't actually Justice League characters, but still hail from the DC universe.


I'll start with this Nightwing/Robin, which I didn't link over at the Justice League community partly because neither of them are exactly in the League (especially the toon version), and also because... well, I'm not entirely sure whether that's meant to be Tim or Jason with Dick, but he looks awfully young and unenthused.

To help wash your mind out, here's another, less paedo, Nightwing/Robin manip. Just in time to serve as a pimping prop for the new Dick/Tim fic Te wrote for sanj's birthday.

Then there's this picture of Aquaman and Aqualad that makes me hope the manipper didn't realise Arthur and Garth are, unlike most of the adult-and-teen-sidekick duos, actually father and son. (ie, INCEST warning.)

In case you thought I was kidding when I said "old Titans," the next image is Hawk and Dove, two of the first Titans who joined after the Founding Five (Dick, Donna, Garth, Roy and Wally). One of the things I enjoyed in Frank Miller's DK2, before I got to the end of the book and my head exploded, was seeing these guys grown middle-aged and living together just off Christopher Street in Greenwich Village. A couple -- literally! -- of the gayest superheroes in DC history.

Speaking of the founding Titans, here's a pairing you don't see every day: Roy and Garth, AKA Arsenal and Tempest, originally Speedy [snerk] and Aqualad.

Then there's the more popular Nightwing/Tempest pairing. And more Nightwing/Tempest, playing in the water. Then there's this profoundly weird manip of some big burly (compared to Dick) bloke in Dick's old Robin speedo (and what looks like Donna's bracers?) and a rather sunny-complected guy wearing Garth's old Aqualad togs.

Nightwing, Batman and Robin-the-film-style. And speaking of the film version of Robin...

If you ask me, this is how Dick should look. I already linked to it (along with a really nice Bruce/Dick manip, among others) in my post on jl_fic, but it's worth pimping twice. Just... the playful smile and the Rom good looks and the lean musculature and... yeah. Who, me, obsessed?

Dick may have changed his uniform a bunch of times, but he's got nothing on Roy. I don't remember how many versions of the Arsenal costume ago this one was.

For thete1, here's Kon-El -- by himself, but we all know who he's thinking of...

Kon in his old uniform. And I think this and this are supposed to be Kon too.

Finally, two pairings in one image: Tim/Kon on the left, Kon/Clark on the right. Yes, Kon and Clark; incest warning again.

You can view the whole Gay Superheroes image gallery here. There are a lot of Marvel-based and other manips (I know I recognised Savage Dragon from Image Comics) that I haven't included because I don't know who the characters are. Maybe someone else will post annotated links to those images...

*blinks* I'm not entirely sure of this but could the burly man be Namor from Marvel? He does wear the speedo thing, and I think he has the armbands. That doesn't make the manip any less weird.

A-ha! Yeah, that does make more sense. I didn't recognise the guy on the left as being Namor because I just don't know Marvel characters well enough.

I've never seen any... and they don't lend themselves well to this style of manip, either. They have pretty distinctive features for a couple of characters who haven't even been drawn in comixland for a decade yet.
