So Outsiders arrived in the comixshops yesterday, and I picked up a copy with my other comix, and read it last night. It's an all-about-Roy-Harper issue.

At one point, I actually dropped the comic into my lap and was overcome with blinding incoherence at -- I can't believe he did that. I can't believe he got *away* with that. I can't believe how much I LOVE him.

SPOILERS HERE for OUTSIDERS #11

Summary of the beginning of the issue: la la Roy's dealing with his lingering trauma from being shot, la la Roy loves Lian and Lian loves her daddy. (And is adorable. I heart Lian Harper.)

Then he goes to visit Grace.

Grace: "You coming back to work? Huntress has been a decent sub [:: Jack tries desperately not to go there, and fails utterly::] and she really pisses off Nightwing, which we all appreciate..."
Grace: "...But y'know, it's better to have you around pissing him off, without all the sexual tension.
At least the obvious sexual tension. I always thought you boys would make a swell couple in an erotic Butch and Sundance kind of way. But if--"

It was at this point that Roy pounced on Grace, kissing her and tearing her shirt off her (literally tearing, with the little shreds) and fucking her right there on the floor -- or that's what I think we're meant to infer, since the actual fucking isn't shown, Outsiders living in that strange and happy place between the Comics Code label and the Mature Readers label.

Yeah.

Or, as I put it to Te last night: Judd Winick is GOD. Just for saying what we've all been thinking.

That moment, and many others from this issue, have been making me grin (and er, have my bloodflow shift) all day today. If you're not already reading Outsiders... you need to be. Just really.


Hm. I need a Roy icon. Or at the very least a Titans-past-and-present icon. Ah, well, more Dick is always good.
