You like me! You rilly, rilly do!

No, this is not the LJ comments meme.

My friend-of stat finally hit 200. It seems like it wasn't that long ago that it broke triple digits... oh, actually it wasn't that long ago. Hunh. Wow.

Okay, not gonna flip out and hide from the growing crowd.

Much.

What I am going to do is point everyone to Mk ([livejournal.com profile] mikster617), who enjoys the distinction of having been the 200th person to friend my livejournal. She's also both a fantastic writer and an eye-poppingly talented artist, and she's recently begun bringing her skills to DC comics fandom in LJ-land. I'm tickled to have an excuse to pimp her.

Oh, and right now, she's --not so much taking requests, as asking for inspiration regarding which characters she should bring her talents to bear on next. Give her some ideas.

Man, I love my fandom.

Uhm, well, actually, part of the reason I befreinded you was because you're trying to pimp Static Shock Slash, which I am woefully unable to find any of. And I really, really, really want to find some good SSSlash. Virgil/Richie. *sheepish grin* I only recently found the show, and the slash potential is through the roof... So... you know of any good recs?

Yes, we rilly, rilly do!

I am honored to be the 200th admirer to friend you :D
Also, thank you for the pimping. Hee hee!

I need more people to stalk. Too many on my f-list are being rilly, rilly quiet lately. (I am too, but I'm working)

Consider a general pimp post, emphasizing some people who are good to follow for what! [livejournal.com profile] thete1 gives good meta, [livejournal.com profile] monkeycrackmary reviews comic related books and is always fun to read regardless of whether you care about her fandom, etc, etc.

Unfortunately, aside from Te's Virgil/Richie sex pollen ficlet, and [livejournal.com profile] fresne's "Freefall" (which is more a Justice League story featuring Virgil), the only other LJer I know of who has written any Static fiction is [livejournal.com profile] prodigette, and she tends to post on a mailing list more than her journal, when she writes at all.

Most of my pimping is hopeful sort, trying to get people to see how amazingly slashy the show is so that they'll start writing. I'm working on some Static-fic myself, too, but... well, just don't ask about my WIPs.

Pimping a fantastic new talent is a delight surpassed only by discovering one in the first place. It was my pleasure, I assure you.

It's a nice idea, but I don't really have time for it -- and I also have a general no-pimping policy, except when there's a situation that provides a clear excuse for making an exception to the rule.

Would you consider doing such a post? You could use the folks on my DC Comics people LJ filter as a starting/reference point.

As I said, the pimpery was my pleasure. I mean, somebody like you there's not much point in pimping, because everyone already seems to know what a talented artist you are.

Also, I adore your SpongeBob/Patrick icon.

Work?!

::looks aghast::

Maybe? If somebody else does first, go ahead and say so!
