whaaaaaa?

Angel has been taken over by Ally fucking McBeal???

Beh. At least Smallville was about as good as a Gloverless ep can be, and incidentally proved my theory that driving fenceposts by hand causes unsavoury journalists to appear. Yes, those are two spoilers, and if they're not minor enough for you, whatever.

You'd think Clark would have learned by now, huh?

Ah, we unsavoury members of the fifth estate. We're so unsavoury. I do in fact have food stains on my skirt right now, as I sit in my actual newsroom being an actual journalist.

It's going to be interesting, the changeover to "journo as force of good", if it happens in SV. I'm not sure, but I always got the impression that back in the days of Classic Supes, journalists were all proto-Woodward and Bernstein types, whereas now, I'm yet to see a journalist character on any show that is not a sneaky mother-selling weasel. Even on shows about actual journos.

There are so few true journalists left. Most of tyhem seem to haveturned to pseudojournalistic whoring because a) they think that's what journalists do; b) that's what editors are actually looking for now; or c) they're just whores.

You make a total of two old-school true journalists I know.

And yeah, I was just wanting to whack Clark upside the head with one of those logs. I was all "couldn't you at least pretend to use the post-hole digger?" even before, well, you know. How the heck many fences do they need on Kent Farm, anyhow?

No John? Whew! And I only say that because my vcr messed up taping so I didn't get to see it tonight. No worries, then! :-)

No Gloverliness outside the title credits, bugger all. Though Lex did talk about dear old dad, a lot, and we met another character who's clashed with him in the past and lived to be haunted by the experience.

Hey! Any chance you can Amtrak up to NYC Friday for the fannish dinner and parade? I could dub off a copy for you to tide you over, and give it to you then...

Ah, sorry, gotta work Friday. And Halloween actually makes me fairly skittish--'round here after dark its more kids with baseball bats and causing trouble than anything else, so I plan on staying close to home...
