the Authority vol. 2 BLITZ continues!
The must-read February "Coup d'Etat" crossover event is over, but the solicitations for May have revealed that there's a 4-issue Authority miniseries starting that month, separate from the regular title this time -- Authority: More Kev.
This is a sequel of sorts to the hilarious (but far underrun -- it's the only Authority book I don't have a lending copy of, and it took me weeks and cost me more than I would've liked to get my hands on the copy I have) one-shot standalone Authority: Kev released back in 2002, during those long dark months between the end of the first series (issues #1-29) and the "vol. 2" relaunch.
Wildstorm has made a 4-page preview of the miniseries, in addition to the first cover, available in preview form (meaning, since the preview can be accessed by anyone and the actual comics are "for mature readers," the bad words have been blacked out of the speech bubbles just for the preview) on its website.
The Cover
Wildstorm put the interior pages up in .pdf format, which can be accessed here. If you'd just as soon not be hassled, and/or don't care that I had to trim down the edges a little tp get the images to fit on photobucket without losing speech-balloon legibility, here are the individual images:
1. Kev and his mates in the pub
2. Kev gets called into the headm-- er, his boss's office
3. Kev nearly shits himself at the sight of his boss's Big Gay Guests -- guess who?
4. looks like another of the covers, or possibly a splash image from the end of part 1 or the beginning of part 2
::looking again at the main cover:: Man. All superheroes ought to fill out their spandex that well. By law.

dude. YES. And I am *not* allowed to spend sixty dollars hunting down the original. I'm really *not.*

If we're lucky, in 6 months or so Wildstorm will include the original one-shot and the 4 parts of the miniseries in one TPB.

You know, when he gets a little older, I could totally see Heath Ledger as Apollo.

...um... what?
Oh. Hm. I don't know about the white hair on him, though -- Apollo's not supposed to be blond, despite that cover. Oddly enough, though I generally find him disconcerting and unattractive when he's not being Aragorn, I think Viggo Mortensen could do well as Apollo.
The question now is, who to cast as the Midnighter?

Thanks. *g*
I could actually see Viggo as Midnighter. Mmmm. . . Viggo as Midnighter and Orlando as Apollo - Yum! :)
Ooo, just thought of another - Russel Crowe as Midnighter. :)

And I think Viggo's too pretty to play the Midnighter. Most actors are, really. Though to me, oddly enough, the crucial thing about Midnighter casting is the right voice.

Oooo, definitely! Low voices are a huge turn on of mine anyway. :)
