And I would have tried to write it that way, only... that wasn't the story my Dick-muse had to tell me, I guess. It would be funny for Dick to be trying to rescue them. Only, in the end, it wouldn't be any funnier than this turned out.
An actual supervillain using mind control to make Batman and Robin go at it (hey, it's no crazier than a lot of actual Golden- and Silver-Age crack) would be cruel, but also redundant, at least when it comes to Bruce and Jason...
