Wow. Well, I called USA Datanet this morning to double-check that the $2 referral credit policy was still in effect... and it turns out they're running a special incentive for the month of December. Any new customer referred by an existing customer will receive a five-dollar credit. And apparently I'll get a ten-dollar credit for each new customer who says they were referred by me when signing up. If even a dozen people sign up... maybe what I should do is make a donation towards a legal team that's defending disabled or retired people who are targeted using this case as precedent? Or pay the non-profit filing fee for a new organisation to help students and former students who have become disabled negotiate the often-confusing obstacle course of applying for deferment, forbearance, or cancellation, with the hope of keeping their income safe from seizure?
It never occurred to me I might wind up with this kind of opportunity, when I decided to make my account referral information available. I'm open to suggestions, folks...
