I'm feeling refreshed and happy and, in a fit of mild mania, I'm going to spam my LJ (and, by extension, the friends lists of many people).

Yesterday, while out shopping at a newly-opened discount/dollar store, I found, to my great surprise and delight, violet soap. (You know how scents are tied to memory? Lots of GOOD childhood memories tied to the smell of violet essence, for me.) I used it this morning, and I just smell like violets all over and I'm loving it like mad.

(At the same store, they had really cool Justice League colouring books, the kind that come with stickers and actually have a storyline. The art's even decent, much better than what you tend to see in superhero-franchise colouring books. I'll be in the area again tomorrow, so if anybody wants me to grab them one before they're gone, drop me a comment.)

Also this morning, I performed my first experiment with the soap-making supplies I acquired last week (little block of blue glycerine soap, little block of green cocoa butter soap, giant log of hemp-oil glycerine soap, citrus scent extract, little molds). The little soaps turned out well, and though further experimentation will be required, I should be able to make nice hand-made soaps for Mother's Day gifts. (I'm also doing long-handled loofah brushes -- I picked up a whole loofah gourd some months ago, they are HUGE! It's big enough to make 5 or 6 individual-use sized loofahs, and the seeds were great for a rattle I had that needed new rattly insides.)

::deep breath:: This is SO cool. I even smell gay today.

My fandom is like crack. My fandom is also ON crack.

Delightful crack. DC might as well stand for "delightful crack," as [livejournal.com profile] adamlizz pointed out.

I enthused and encouraged until Adam made icons to go with this brilliant new interpretation of the DC acronym (and the crack-addled muckety-mucks at DC are distinctly unclear about just what DC really does stand for, so Adam may just be right) -- they're on his journal.

Crack being like potato chips (you can't stop at just one), I snagged several of these and combined them into one, extra-crack-headed animated icon. And here it is.

You know, it makes me truly, madly, deeply happy to check my DC comics people LJ filter and see Devin-love from multiple people on one page.

That is all. But-- reeeeally happy.

So Outsiders arrived in the comixshops yesterday, and I picked up a copy with my other comix, and read it last night. It's an all-about-Roy-Harper issue.

At one point, I actually dropped the comic into my lap and was overcome with blinding incoherence at -- I can't believe he did that. I can't believe he got *away* with that. I can't believe how much I LOVE him.

spoilers here! )

That moment, and many others from this issue, have been making me grin (and er, have my bloodflow shift) all day today. If you're not already reading Outsiders... you need to be. Just really.

Hm. I need a Roy icon. Or at the very least a Titans-past-and-present icon. Ah, well, more Dick is always good.
