Access to existing LJ Memories is doing fine. Any attempt to add new memories will result only in frustration, at the moment, and trying to edit existing memories may lead to screaming when they (apparently) disappear entirely.

See Jack. See Jack troubleshoot. )

Well, at least they say they're working on it. ::waits::

So [livejournal.com profile] evadne_ and I were talking the other morning, and she mentioned how, while she loves Gar Logan (Beast Boy, or Changeling, depending on the era) and wants to write lots of porn with him (yay!), she couldn't picture slashing him with Vic (Cyborg), becaue she hasn't read any storylines with him that grabbed her and made her care about his character as yet.

I suggested that she try some of the older stuff, where they used to do whole stories about Vic and his life, background, interests, etc. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the only thing remotely like that in recent years was the storyline where he came back to earth all over golden and kind of freaked-out, yes?) In particular, I was thinking of the... well, we'd call it a limited series or a maxiseries now, but this was long before those terms... anyway, Spotlight on the New Teen Titans, which ran for twenty-some issues, each one either centred on one of the Titans or making up part of a short arc (2-4 issues) focussed on one Titan. I have most or all of these. Er... somewhere in my old-school back-issues file, probably near Batman and the Outsiders.

I also thought of, have, and recced to Ang, Tales of the New Teen Titans, a four-issue miniseries from 1982. One issue each devoted to the backstory/life story of Vic, Raven, Gar, and Kory -- serendipitously, the four non-YJ Titans on current roster, if you count the fact that Raven's looking likely to be reunited with the team by year's end -- as told by each one to their fellow Titans, in the context of a camping trip they all take. (Dick, Donna and Wally are there too.) It's very cute, and remains a great set of introductions to the older also-Titans, despite the issues of unreliable narrators and the possibility of some details having been subsequently retconned out of canon.

edit: Next on Fox: When Good Ideas Go Wrong! )
Anyway... you want to go here: http://suprnova.org and look for a pack called "The New Teen Titans. Date: 09-04" to get the comics Ang and I were talking about.

I'm leaving the subject line as it is. I think it still applies. ::rueful grin::
