buggeryJesus is hanging crucified, thorns digging in his scalp, half-healed whip weals on his back, spear-wound bleeding down his side. Two other Jesuses are standing before the cross, each with similar wounds.
Jesus-3 turns to Jesus-2. "Does it hurt? Let me see."
Jesus-2 spreads his arms, and Jesus-3 probes a finger into the gash in his flank. The pain is singular, shocking. When Jesus-2 can see and feel again, he's alone, Golgotha deserted but for him. He doesn't know the way to the tomb.
