I've been in the habit of not reccing stories, largely because I trust people's ability to find the SSA and use Google, and also there are lots of other people who rec stuff all the time. But wonderfully, there's a whole bunch of delicious hot slash out there you may not have seen; indeed, I'll be downright amazed if anybody else has been to all these places.

Te is back, and writing again, in volume and speed to put the rest of us to shame: she has a four-part new Munch/Cassidy (Law & Order: SVU) smutfest up in her journal -- part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 -- which you should go read even if you've never seen and/or don't like SVU. I do, of course, my Munch-love being well-established; but my own bias aside, a good portion of the feedback comments are from people who had no idea who the characters were and loved it anyway. For non-Munch SVU slashsmut goodness, she recommends Sage Meg's "Establish Dominance;" and now that I've read it, I can concur, its scorching hotness making up for some distracting POV issues. Te also has a shiny new fanfuckingtastic Batman/Flash piece up, inspired by the new "A Better World" ep of Justice League people are gushing about all over LJland. In this instance, I haven't seen the ep yet, nor any JL in over a year, but I can give a glowing rec as a long-time Batfan and comix reader. She got them right.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but "The Only Time," by adamlizz, is an interesting take on Lex/Lionel, with Lex initiating. Equally unexpected -- and hella hot, if you'll pardon the pun -- is Adam's "Blasphemy," a short story from the neglected Brimstone fandom. In Glover-free fandoms, Adam's "A Two-Way Street" is exactly how I always thought the missing scene from Sorority Boys went but could never manage to write myself.

Adam also introduced me to M.C.A. Hogarth's enchanting Jokku universe (the site changes colour schemes with the time of day, it's the coolest thing) via his link to the Jokku Gender Quiz. My own results were oddly accurate, if not quite literally so:

The Jokka are a fascinating people, the subject of some lovely original fiction. Three of the stories about them are available online: "Money for Sorrow, Made Joy," "Freedom, Spiced and Drunk," and my favourite, "Unspeakable." It's easy to see how Hogarth landed on the Tiptree Award secondary list; and she does wonderfully otherworldly illustrations for her own Jokku stories, too, some of which are used in the quiz results.

There's new illustrated goodness back in fandom, too... a lot of it has been around a long while, but barbana has collected her works into a spiffy new site, laid out both functionally and attractively (and with thumbnails large enough to be helpful, what a concept). Take her warning page seriously, and then go find the art she created to go with Jenn's and Te's "What I Do Is Me, For This I Came." Just don't find it while at work or surrounded by littl'uns.

Adam has loads of really good (although so often all too short) fic. (Adam, of course would say I'm biased.)
