The farewell scene made me want to cry -- well, the whole end of the film did. But I couldn't figure out what made Frodo smile like that... he's not the sort to put on false cheer, or even to be able to, sweet little broken hobbit boy. So I turned it over and over in my mind until, well, this fell out.
