Here Be Icons...
Feb. 12th, 2004 02:12 amI went crazy and made a ton of icons, mostly from issue #765 of Detective Comics -- not so much to use myself, as to farm out, the better to aid me in my mission of comix fandoms pimpery.
Te nabbed a few of them already, but as she's hosting the images for me, giving her first dibs seems only fair.

3)
The Authority's Midnighter and Apollo; Batman enjoying himself at a disco; and Josie MacDonald, one of Gotham's Finest. (Disco-Batman has been claimed, but there are blanks within from which similar animated icons can be made.)
4)
5)
6)
From the covers of (forthcoming) Robin #124 and Nightwing #91.
7)
8)
9)
Three versions of an icon from the actual ad that ran asking readers to call in and vote for whether Jason Todd (Robin II) should live or die. The original was black and white.

Three versions of an icon from the cover of Detective Comics #765 (the issue most of these icons are from).

I used three of these as bases for the animated icon (#2) above. The main story in DetC #765 was coloured mostly in shades of grey, with the only actual colour being green. It's pretty easy to just shift the hue from green to another colour with even most basic graphics programs, so I didn't play around with most of them this way, and I only did primary colour variations, despite the temptation to make a pink or purple Batman. I'm putting these up for people who don't want their Batman green and can't change the hue on their own, and also to give a head start to anybody who wants an animated icon like #2.

18) gold version 19) blue version 20)
Another good basic Batman icon that shows off Jesse Delperdang's inking prowess. I'm just linking to the other two colour variations to cut down on image loading time.

23) gold version 24) red version
And one more series of What Colour Is Your Batman icons. With that expression, it was really tempting to make him pink...
25)
26)
27)
Batman and his anger management issues...

30)
The sickly green is okay in small doses. It's just very... green.
(I did actually do one whole series of icons from DetC #765 that I hue-shifted to blue -- all gratuitous crotch shots of Batman's bulging shorts and muscular ass and kinktastic belt -- but Te has laid claim to those until she tires of the pelvic-thrusting-Batman icon she got out of it. Watch this space.)

34)
A few shots of Sasha Bordeaux, bodyguard to Bruce Wayne who, of course, wound up putting on a mask and suffering through the drama of Bruce Wayne: Murderer? and Bruce Wayne: Fugitive with the rest of the Batfamily. Detective #765 came immediately before Batman: The Ten-Cent Adventure, which kicked off the Murderer/Fugitive storyline.
35)
36)
37)
38)
And a few more of Detective Josie "Josie Mac" MacDonald (brainchild of Judd Winick and Jeff Chiang) from the back-up story in DetC #765. If it weren't for Jim Gordon and Renee Montoya, Josie would be my favourite Gotham cop. You've got to love a city full of ass-kicking, crime-fighting chicks...

Finally: the Bat-Band-Aid Batman gave Josie Mac; one last green Batman; and the blank from my Apollo/Midnighter SUPERGAY icon, taken from a scan of their first in-print kiss in The Authority (vol. 1) #8.
A lot of these are well-suited to captioning, though I've left them blank, almost without exception. If there's text you'd really like on one and you have no way to do it yourself, make a note of it when commenting to claim the icon, and I'll do what I can. Similarly, if you desperately want a green icon shifted, or a simple animation done, ask below, and I'll see what I can do when I get a chance.
Claimed icons -- icons that someone has taken to use who is not willing to share -- will have astrike through their number. Shared icons, which at least one person is already using a variation of, will have their number bolded.
Since I can't be here 24/7, though, do so please check through the comments to make sure the icon you want hasn't already been claimed if you want to share (or being shared if you want to claim, for that matter). I'm a sharing type, myself, so I encourage everyone to let others use any blanks they take a fancy to, too, but it's first-come, first-served.
