I...can't believe I didn't know that mainland China had started using simplified characters.
I'm kind of surprised I hadn't at least heard about it, myself. They're also writing their names in roman-alphabet characters now, too, apparently, so that Deng Pi Tsieh doesn't even know how to write his own name in ideograph form. (I was disappointed.)
