From what I remember, the flowers bit is from an old issue of something in which Batman and Robin (and possibly WW?) go to the Fortress of Solitude to bring Superman his birthday present. (And yes, if you put that in a fic, you'd be laughed out of town, but it happened in the comics.)
Batman says something along the lines of "What do you get a man who has everything?" and explains that he designed a new rose just for Superman.
Heh. Could it *be* any slashier? Anyway, it's not an issue I own, but somebody posted scans once. You might find it at scans_daily if you're interested.
