I was possibly also influenced by the general failure of anyone to call Wally (or Barry or Jay) the Flash, as opposed to just Flash, particularly as contrasted to the more frequent use of the article with Batman despite his comics not being titled THE BATMAN.
Possibly because Wally (or Barry or Jay) doesn't give off a vibe like he'll break your wrist whilst hissing, "They call me Mr. The Batman!"
