I think "Timmy" falls into the category of "little brother": things that are just wrong in the just right way.
Funny you should mention that... where Dick calls Tim 'Timmy' or 'Boy Wonder' in the final version, he'd been saying 'little brother' in the original draft. Te and I decided that 'little brother' didn't quite fit the Dick/Tim relationship in the cartoons, and wouldn't without some backstory to make it fit. Good to know that the feel of it still translated. (:
