Yesterday, leavening a post of LOVE with a bit of peeve, Te complained about stories in which Robin-bashing words are put into the mouths or minds of other characters as a way of (allegedly more so than in practice, I think) making another Robin look better by comparison.

After reading her post, I decided to express my agreement in the form of a satirical drabble. For your reading and my archiving convenience, I'm re-posting the little slip of a story here, with a shiny new title appended.

Transposition

He should be relieved to have Tim back. Appreciative of the hard work the boy has put into re-establishing his abilities, the hard work he'd done in years previous to hone those abilities in the first place.

It's not that he still resents Tim for quitting (though there's a small, petty voice in his mind urging him to, to feel betrayed and abandoned) -- he understood the necessity.

Yet he can't help, looking at Tim now, back in the suit (*his* first, after all), but view his hips as too slim, his chest oddly and disappointingly flat, his hair stiff and dark.

I almost feel like a disclaimer is called for, but... well. I did say it was satire. q:

*hee hee hee*

That manippy thingie Livia posted somewhere (somewhere I can't /find/, argh) in the last week with Tim-as-Steph-as-Robin makes for an interesting sort of sequel.

::snickering:: Yes, it does. Disturbing, but interesting.
