Mostly not incapacitated. My big plans to do some light housecleaning and errands yesterday were foiled by my body's insistence on two long naps on top of a full night's sleep the night before. I hate winter.

In happier news, I have now seen my first episodes of Lost (last Wednesday) and House (last night) and now see what everyone has been on about. Well, sort of. Lost's style and cinematography don't really work for me, though I'll probably give it another try since the adorable curly-haired boy in many people's icons barely appeared in the ep I saw at all and he's the most intriguing thing about the show so far for me. As for House, the Holmes/Watson House/Wilson love is PURE and TRUE ("Are you breaking up with me?" indeed!) and my affection for Holmesian characters seems as likely as not to outweigh my discomfort with the issue of doctors behaving like assholes towards patients.

Never fear, fellow fans of the Delicious Crack comics: I'm not going anywhere. Well, I'm going to the comicshop today, hurrah for new comics day!

Also, memeage.

Ten Things I've Done That You Probably Haven't

1. Shared a berth on an overnight train from Copenhagen to Amsterdam with two other native English speakers, all three of us from different countries and complete strangers to one another before boarding the train. (The other two blokes were from Jamaica and Australia.)

2. Spent almost every Saturday preparing and serving nutritious, vegan food to hungry people, many of them homeless, for eighteen months (and counting) with my local Food Not Bombs chapter.

3. Put this expression Grace: The serenity of a good orgasm. on Te's face. (That's actually a fair likeness, aside from the hair and the skin tone.)

4. Nearly choked to death in a grammar-school cafeteria while a teacher looked on as if I was the afternoon's entertainment rather than providing or summoning help.

5. 'Marched' in the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade dressed in a purple fairy costume which fits over me and my power wheelchair which I was riding in at the time. (I've also sported the same getup at a Renaissance faire and other outings.)

6. Been owned by a cat who walked on a leash, loved to ride in the car, and ate sandwiches properly -- one bite at a time, rather than trying to lick the filling out from between the slices of bread.

7. Eaten traditional Iraqi food. (It's delicious. My favourite is a stewed eggplant dish served over rice with a yoghurt sauce.)

8a. Found a fossil snail-shell in a forest hundreds of miles from any modern ocean.

8b. Found a chunk of smoky quartz the size of my doubled fists in another wilderness area. (Stones like me.)

9. Traveled by Greyhound bus from a town on the Ohio-West Virginia border to a large city in Texas, including a twelve-hour unscheduled layover in Oklahoma when the bus broke down.

10. Spent three days in a monastery in a tiny village in Brittany. (A much more pleasant trip.)

Finally, inspired by the graphic of (fictitious) Sodomite Airlines on The Daily Show last night:

(voice over P.A.) Ladies and gentlemen, we have now reached our cruising altitude of 33,000 feet. The fasten seatbelt lights are off and the autopilot is engaged, and my copilot already has his pants open. Flight attendants will be moving through the cabin with our paraphernalia cart, from which you can purchase condoms and your choice of lubricants; please inform a flight attendant if you'd like to come up and watch us go at it in the cockpit.

(other voice over P.A.) 'Cockpit.' (snickering) Oh, yeah, *spank* me...

(P.A. cuts to silence)

Yes! Him. When I first started seeing the icons with him -- chiefly yours and Lori's, IIRC -- I was all, who's that hot chick?

Obviously I've now clued to him being a guy. Still cute. And he wears a GL t-shirt, at least in icon-land.

(The little boy is adorable, too. Just... in a different way.)

Ohh, okay! When you said boy, I initially though Walt, since he is still a boy. *g* Hurley is totally cool, and he's one of my favorite characters on the show. (My favorite, though, is Locke, the older guy in my icon who is just all kinds of amazing.)

(Sadly the GL shirt is just someone's manip.. however, I'll be he does read comics, he's just like that! In one ep he compares something Jack does as to being a "jedi moment", hehe)

Oh, and Hurley's ep is next week's.. so you're started watching just in time! :)

*just found this conversation* Hurley only wears a GL shirt because Livia kindly manipped one onto him for me to iconify.

And even though you're probably not at the comp a lot of the time and might not see this before eight, I thought I should remind you that tonight is his flashback episode.
