So it was pointed out to me that both the smut snippets I posted (Full Spectrum and Close) are from Clark's POV. And I noticed that both And the Sailor, Home from the Sea and The Utterly Perfect Murder are in Lex's POV. The third serious story, the one I moved to the back burner, is Lex talking, too. I wondered; I hadn't set out to write in a Lex-for-drama-mode, Clark-for-sex-mode dichotomy. I delved into my WIP folder, and found:

Binary Lex POV, Lex/Lionel confrontation from Tempest. Why Lex? Well, the only other option is Lionel, and his head isn't the more interesting place in that scene. Damn. I just realised this one may turn out even more gen than Perfect Murder. What is it about this fandom that has me writing gen?

Bruise Lex POV, Lex musing in his closet. Hmm. This may or may not even develop into an actual story; I don't generally consider rambling thoughts a story in and of themselves. If it doesn't go anywhere, I'll at least put it up here as a snippet, though; it's pretty.

Elect Futurefic; what do you know, this one's so sketchy still that there is no POV. Though I think it may stay that way, which in its own way is good. Sometimes I think I spend too much time writing about what the guys are thinking.

Heat of Anger Clark POV, drama. Will probably have little or no sex (though I said that about Sailor and look how it turned out). Why Clark POV? It's a Clark on the dissection slab story, and apparently my organic approach to POV thought his view would work best.

Moment Lex POV of the funeral in Crush. Yes, Lex POV. Why? Because I can.

Red Ponies and Other Non-Pets Clark POV, drama. Why Clark? Because Lex is going to shock the hell out of him.

Solidus Clark POV, futurefic. Why Clark? No way to explain it without giving away the best part of the story.

Sound and Fury Clark POV, angstfic to end all angstfic. I really want to write this one, but I can't get the guys to talk to me, and it's so dialogue-dependent I really need them to. Why Clark? I go all B-plotty and have him dealing with a new power.

Taffy Lex POV, my response to incestfic -- response, not incestfic, wiley love, you'll be able to read it. No bad touch, no physical abuse from Lionel at all, but he still manages to fuck with Lex's head in deeply intimate and perverse ways. And there's no way to tell this story except from inside Lex's head.

[no title] Clark POV, crossover with Spider Robinson's Callahan's Lady. I respect Spider enough to be uncomfortable with appropriating his setting and characters, so this may never see the light of day even if I finish it. Lex does seem determined to take Clark to the House, though. And Clark's the one who it's new to; Spider always introduced Lady Sally's through the eyes of newcomers, so I suppose that's why I can't quite imagine telling this tale through Lex's eyes. (He has, of course, been there before. He's Lex.)

[no title] Lex POV, Victoria fic. Lex's POV because there's nothing much in hers to work with. This one's more so I can torment Viccy than anything else.

Well, what do you know, it's an even split. I don't think I could have done that if I'd been trying. And there are serious fics from Clark's POV, and at least one smut-centric one from Lex's. Good to know I'm not typecasting.
