Slash Fen Gathering Tomorrow Night!
Oct. 30th, 2003 08:08 pmTomorrow is 31 October. Halloween. I am going to the big Greenwich Village Halloween Parade in New York City, as are some other LJ slashfolk. A few of us are planning to get together for early dinner before the parade gets going. (See my previous post here for more info on time and location for the parade.)
If you haven't already said anything, but are in or near the City and would like to join us... come on over! Here's the people who have expressed interest so far:
rivkat (dinner only, has to leave around 5:30)
bonibaru (conflict)
nifra_idril
tstar78
viridian5
unovis_lj and her offline friend Olya (parade only)
...and of course me, your enabler, Jack
buggery.
The plan is to meet at the restaurant between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Unovis and I (well, she did most of the work) found two restaurant options that are in the right area, serve sushi (this was the clear favourite cuisine discussed in chat) but also offer alternate food options, are more or less reasonably priced, have adequate room for boisterous fen, and are wheelchair-accessible.
The choices are: Sushi Samba, a Japanese/Brazilian fusion restaurant at 87 Seventh Avenue South; or ONY (Original Noodle for You), a noodle house which also serves sushi, at 357 Sixth Avenue between Washington Place and West 4th Street. Sushi Samba definitely gets the A for originAlity, but ONY would allow us to eat for considerably less money -- a lot of Sushi Samba's entrees are in the $20 and up range.
If you're inclined to come to dinner, state your restaurant preference in a comment, and we'll go by majority rule... or, if nobody has a strong preference, I'll make an executive decision and follow-up post it tomorrow afternoon.
For those who can't make it to dinner, but are planning to go to the parade, we'll be lining up in staging area 4. I'll be in a power wheelchair dressed as a purple (well, mauve) Autumn Fairy, and if there are two of us I'm sure the other fairy will be pleased to meet you, too. Remember! Anyone in costume can join the parade. If you're planning to go, feel free to comment below with your costume details so we can look for you.
Meanwhile, I won't be online much this evening, thanks to a long-overdue visit from SO, but I will be checking for ::shudder:: mail and comments eeearly tomorrow morning and again in the afternoon, so if you can't catch me in AIM, try contacting me through one of those means.
::waving my fairy wand, scattering fairy glitter over LJ-land::
I will be running late, thanks to the Metro North asshats... whoever arrives first might let them know we expect to be a party of six with two wheelchairs, and "LJ" works for a reservation name.
