Yeah, um, [livejournal.com profile] adamlizz put this idea in my head, but I ran with it. I did manage to restrain myself from actually giving him bunny ears or a fluffy tail, or manipping an Easter basket into that upraised hand...

really, it was just a matter of time before SOMEBODY did this

As [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn would (and did) have him say, "It makes me feel pretty."

I tend to think of lavender, violet, purple as the lesbian colours.

There's also black, if you're going to go with the same derivation that made pink the gay men's colour, but that has its own issues even aside from the ubiquity of wearing black among all sorts of people.

Now I'm having weird thoughts about Amish lesbians...

Um, I've always associated colors like these with the boys, all being of the "pink" family.

And I'll bet Amish lesbians are wild in bed.

Have you seen this? Or... well, it's defunct now, but there used to be a centralised links site for lesbian ("womyn who love womyn") poetry on the 'net called Violet Letters.

Besides, lavender, lesbian... And hey, the boys have got pink, they can let women have the purples.

I guess the red tints could be more associated with us lessies. But lavender is definitely more for the boys. One example - a line from "The Boys In The Band" that goes, "That's the pot calling the kettle lavender ..."

And hey - we don't need to be *allowed* the colors we use. :)
