So DC-comics-fandom zeitgeist seems to be headed in greenish directions. The assorted Green Lanterns past and present; the Green Arrow family, with its long associations with the GL and Flash families (not to mention plenty of incestuous-ish subtext); the Martian Manhunk Manhunter; Gar Logan is even back with the latest incarnation of the Titans.

And that's not remotely all.

I'd been feeling the need to have icons for a bunch of these folks, and these relationships. Several other people around LJ were good enough to share icons of various DCU characters in green, but I needed more. In the process of finding images I liked for my own use, I wound up with... rather more than I needed, or indeed could possibly use on my own.

So now it's my turn to share. These are all .gif format, which is both smaller than a .jpg and animation-ready. If you're planning to make an animated icon, you may share up to five bases (but not claim for exclusive use more than two). Please indicate in comments whether you want dibs on your choice(s) or are willing to share -- if you don't specify otherwise, it will be marked as shareable.

Shared icons marked in green, claimed icons in red.

part II with Green Arrow & more

The sources for most of these are right in the filenames; "John-GL156.gif" would be a picture of John (Stewart) taken from Green Lantern #156, and "JonnOllie-JLAJSAVnV.gif" is J'onn J'onzz (PhotoBucket made me take the apostrophes out) and Oliver Queen from JLA/JSA: Virtue & Vice.

If you know the source of any of the asterisked* icons' base images, please comment below, and I'll update the filenames. ETA: Two down, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ratcreature and [livejournal.com profile] caia_comica; thanks to you both!

Yes, the icon is from Year One. The climax of the story immediately put in mind of the final episode of the original Sailor Moon series (as well as the climax of the Sailor Moon R movie).

The lyrics are from MU-NRAITO Densetsu (Moonlight Legend) (http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/smoon/densetsu.htm), the first opening theme; the full version plays in the final episode during the big battle which includes Usagi as the primary vector and the senshi supporting her in a similar manner to the end of Year One (I very nearly used Moon Revenge from the end of the R movie as a similar ending occurs). According to animelyrics.com, the translation reads:

A wondrous miracle growing closer.
We'll be brought together by fate many times over.

I have a bad habit of relating things back to Sailor Moon. Of course, this leads to my point of how JLA is ultimately about friendship (and love and justice) and how Wonder Women used to transform from her civilian identity by whirling her lasso around herself. Then I start seeing characters in fuku and tuxedos, sparkles and fireworks everywhere, and everything goes wonky.

You must be thrilled that the voice-actor playing Bruce in the new The Batman series is the same bloke who voiced Tuxedo Mask, then...

Ehhh...I'm reserving judgment on the new series until I see (and hear) it. I found "Darren's" voice to be a bit grating in all honesty.
