Hey, I'm not sure about the abuse thing, myself. (Note my careful use of "may.") It just... makes a frightening degree of sense. And doesn't really disperse the Huge Cloud Of Innocence And Light much more than the circumstances of his parents' deaths do.
No question, though, that it was NOT Bruce. If it had been, Dick would have an almost entirely different set of issues.
