storyish thing
Oct. 12th, 2004 04:44 amI was supposed to play the generator game with Livia tonight, and didn't. Frankly I'm exhausted and probably wouldn't have been up to it anyway.
But then I remembered I did have something fic-like that I could post. And really, it's been too long since I've posted anything like a story here.
Set in
monkeycrackmary's and
thete1's Angelsverse with a flagrant lack of prior permission.
Weird things happen in my head.
Tim knows -- *knows* -- that this can't be Dick. He's never doubted that Dick had died, even when that sort of denial would've felt good. But... he looks like Dick. Exactly like. *Smells* like the scent that had finally stopped lingering in Dick's room at the Manor, but not before Tim had immersed himself in it often enough to know it as well as his own. His voice is Dick's, like a more perfect recording than anything in the Cave's files, alive and responsive; and the illusion would be complete if it weren't for the fact that his hearing is also picking up irregularities in this imposter's biorhythms bizarre enough that he wonders whether "Dick" is even human.
Even so, it's difficult to resist the illusion. To *want* to resist.
And now, I go to bed.

- (The setup...
from a forthcoming story by Te: He'd stopped being taken aback by others' willingness to take orders from him so long ago that he doesn't really remember what it's like
Jack: it's the robin mystique...
Jack: ::facepalms:: and i am now helplessly having robin/mystique thoughts.
Te: *HA*
Five minutes of fast-fingered typing followed.)

She asked me to... that was after you two had played, though, apparently.
